Architectural & construction design in collaboration with Eva Müller

Right at Lake Malchin, part of the lake area of Mecklenburg, close to the village of Bristow, there is a desolate waterfront site surrounded by nature. Currently, several holiday houses built in the GDR times occupy the site. Each home includes
three units and a pier to enter the water.
The design task was to replace the holiday homes while upgrading the area for the community and tourists.

The project focuses on the usability of reed material. It is locally sourced and traditionally used as roofing. Stacked reed is quite adaptable, which makes
it easy to shape into organic forms. Inspired by older sagging and traditional curved Indonesian roofs, we exaggerated the regionally known gabled roof.
